Military Veterans Fellowship Program
Overview
The Borbonus Family Foundation was founded in memory of Army SPC John Borbonus, who courageously gave his life in Baghdad, Iraq while serving his country in 2007. The Borbonus Family Foundation is a private foundation located in Boise, ID that primarily funds support for Idaho veterans, scholarships, college athletics, and general support. The foundation has graciously committed to fund fellowships to help recruit military veterans to serve as leaders in current and future American Classical Schools of Idaho (ACSI) schools.
Objective
ACSI seeks to recruit military veterans, leveraging their unique skills, experience, and patriotism to help lead current and future ACSI schools.
Program Components

- Comprehensive onboarding program that leverages the unique capabilities and professional experiences of veterans interested in opportunities in K-12 educational leadership.
- Full-time salary, benefits, other financial support, and office space.
- Mentorship, immersion, and training on American classical education philosophy and pedagogy.
- Access to expertise from ACSI’s partnerships.
Application Process
Step 1: Initial Inquiry

- Submission of Intent: Interested veterans should send an initial e-mail to info@acs-id.org.
Step 2: Application Submission

- Application Form: Applicants complete a brief application form that includes personal information, military service details, educational background, and reference information.
- Supporting Documents: Applicants attach the following documents to their application form: letter of intent (cover letter), resume, DD214 or alternative service record, and a 500-word philosophy of education statement.
